Winchester SX3 vs. SX4 Semi Auto Shotgun Review | Gould Brothers

In General

With the recent release of the Winchester SX4 semi-auto shotgun, many people wondering what the difference is between the SX4 and the SX3. In this video we break down the major differences between the SX4 and the SX3 and what we think about the new SX4 shotgun.

First off, we have to admit, we were a little concerned when we heard that Winchester was releasing the SX4. Over the last 9 years we have been shooting the Winchester SX3 and we have absolutely loved it and we had no idea of we would like the changes Winchester was making on the SX4.

Now, with 10’s of thousands of rounds through the SX4 we can confidently say that we love it. Winchester took the fast, reliable, light recoiling SX3 and made it even better! Winchester used much of the same internal components from the SX3 for the SX4, so from that side of things, not much has changed. In our opinion, that is a good thing. If you have the fastest cycling, gun that is super reliable shooter, from target to hunting loads, with light recoil, why change!?

Now here is what has changed.

The trigger guard is bigger, making shooting with gloves on a little easier.

The bolt release, safety, and charging handle have all been redesigned for easier use with and without gloves on.
The balance point has moved forward slightly, giving a more natural mount and a smoother swing.
It is slightly lighter.

The recoil pad has been redesigned to lessen felt recoil.
Currently, the SX4 is available in black synthetic, waterfowl (Shadow Grass Blades), and field (Satin Oil Finished Walnut Stock)
Here is the BIG ONE, the SX4 has an MSRP that is about $100 less than the SX3!!!!!!!!!!!!

Special Thanks Winchester for helping us make this video happen.
